I Love Plant

Flowers are every where

I love plant.  I started it with roses.  I don’t remember when it started but maybe when I was at uni.  My uncle and I could talk for hours about farming and plant.  It was often that I would rather buy roses and fasting the next day.  One of my close friends who also loved flower was Utty and we both often hunted for flower together.  I often bought roses that I grew in my tiny house garden in Griya Indah 184G Yogyakarta.  Two or three grew so well that they had many flower and it became photo spot.  I also grew mango tree in between the ditch and the street and I had to move some of the paving block to plant it.  So many laughed at me because they knew I would leave very soon.  I would leave soon but there would be other who would stay.   Few years later when I visited I got the fruit. 

Those days I read Trubus a hobbyist magazine with Iin Hasyim as my idol.  I imagined to wander around places with many flower and that sell flower and then I would buy to grow in my garden.  Garden was a nice word especially when I didn’t have a place to call my own.

Everywhere I go never fails to look for flower, to take picture of flower, to buy flower and to plant flower. One of my friends did not want to sit next to me afraid that the leaves took over his seat.

When my friends come from a place with many flower, they bring me flower.  Most of them do not survive because of different climate especially in the hot Mataram, Lombok which has tropical temperature.  Recently I have moved to a cooler village and start to plant tulip in Sembalun.  I have seen few new leaves and I hope they will grow flower.  Sembalun a hilly and cool area in Lombok which may as cool as Perth in winter.  Thanks God, some have shown their flower.

I have dreamt of tante Saleh's garden in Sembalun Bumbung.  I wish to be able to grow flowers in garden in one of the hill in Sembalun.  I wish also to be able to take my mom to visit Floriade in Canberra or Keukenhof.  Ameen. Lots of pray, hard work and saving J
